AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Changes
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
