David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
