I cannot count on a three-year period at Manchester United - Ruben Amorim

the United manager

United's manager - pictured getting support post May's Europa League final defeat - states he is happy by the investor's long-term backing but emphasized that tomorrow is uncertain in the sport.

United's manager Ruben Amorim thinks it is important Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his extended perspective - but states nothing is guaranteed about the next day in soccer, much less three full years.

In an interview with The Times last week, Sir Jim stated it might require Amorim three seasons to create substantial change at Old Trafford.

Coming in a period when Amorim's future has been under scrutiny after a prolonged run of unsatisfactory outcomes, the comments helped quell certain present tensions.

Yet, discussing prior to the centenary clash with traditional foes Liverpool at their home ground, the manager stressed that what comes next is challenging to anticipate in the beautiful game.

"It's certainly beneficial to receive that message but he communicates to me constantly, occasionally through communication following matches - but recognize, I'm aware and Ratcliffe understands, that the sport isn't that predictable," he stated.

"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Even with owners, you cannot dictate the future in the sport."

Top executive the club executive has conceded it has required much more time for the head coach to acclimate to the Premier League after his transfer from Sporting in November than anybody anticipated.

United have won 10 victories in 34 top-flight fixtures with the Portuguese coach. They still haven't achieved consecutive league victories and have not ended a round of league games during this campaign higher than ninth.

The concerning numbers are stretching belief in the head coach among the United fanbase approaching a stretch of fixtures the side has performed poorly in for the previous two campaigns.

The manager stated he does not feel the doubt internally at their training facility and is insistent nothing compares to the pressure he puts on the squad - and in certain ways, he would rather the co-owner to refrain from seeking to create tranquility because he is concerned about the impact it could have on the squad.

"It's not just something people discuss, I experience it each day," he remarked. "It's really good to hear it because it benefits our followers to comprehend the leadership understand it will require a period.

"Yet concurrently, I dislike it because it gives a feeling that we have time to resolve issues. I don't want that impression in our organization.

"The expectation I place on the squad or on myself is considerably larger [versus outside influences]. In soccer, particularly at major teams, you have to show your worth every weekend."
